The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are two of the best smartphones on the market (if not the best smartphones of 2016 so far), but they don’t come cheap. Samsung has just released these devices as unlocked models in the US, with $669.99 and $769.99 price tags, respectively. Don’t be surprised if these prices are too high: most consumers consider these price tags quite high and too expensive for their wallets. Be not alarmed, though, there is a rescue for those who want either the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge for cheap.
The best way to get the Galaxy S7 or S7 for cheap is to take advantage of Best Buy’s new Fourth of July deal. The retailer is selling the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for $49.99 with a two-year agreement with either Verizon or Sprint. Of course, with Verizon, keep in mind that you’ll pay the $49.99, then pay for your service for two years. In the event that you decide to terminate your agreement before it expires, you’ll be forced to pay a termination fee of up to $350. The ETF (early termination fee) will be $350 minus $10 X the number of months you’ve been in the contract. The only problem with this is that you don’t see any money subtracted from the ETF until you’ve been with Verizon in the new agreement for 8 months. In other words, you have to be on the contract for nearly a year before seeing any major subtractions from the ETF.
The Galaxy S7 or S7 edge agreement will work differently with Sprint. Sprint only mandates you pay the $49.99, and agree to stay on-contract during the 24 months agreed to. Your bill won’t go up, and you won’t pay any extra fees, however — so this may prove a sweet deal for someone who wants the latest phone but wants to avoid paying an arm and a leg for it. Whether you pay in full and buy it outright, or lease and activate it, you’ll also receive a free wireless charging pad to make good on Samsung’s in-built wireless charging technology within these top-class smartphones.
If you’re an AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon customer, feel free to purchase the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge on an installment plan instead. Installment plan customers can get up to $150 off the cost of the phone, but prepare to have qualifying credit if you go this route.
