Apple released official Lightning Dock for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Apple has finally released the official Lightning Dock for its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Previously, the only Lightning Docks available in the market were from third-party vendors. The Lightning Dock is not only for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus but it will also support iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S which also supports Lightning connector.

One great thing about the new Apple dock is that it features a design which has the Lightning connector built atop of the base. This means that the device doesn’t need to perfectly fit the dimensions of the Lightning Dock for it to work. It’s a great move by Apple, making Lightning Dock future proof for iPhones which will be released in the future.

Lightning Dock features two ports at the back – one is a 3.5mm headphone jack and the other is for the charging/data connectivity support. It also as the play/pause control buttons that work with iPhone while playing music.

The new Lightning Dock isn’t just a charging stand for iPhones. It can also be connected to a computer via USB cable that comes with iPhone to sync data between PC and iPhone and also charge while doing it. It can also be used with the Apple USB Power Adapter to connect it with an electrical socket. And finally, the 3.5mm headphone jack can be put to good use by connecting any stereo or headphone supporting the 3.5mm jack to play music or watch videos as well.

Apple Lightning Dock is priced at $39 with free shipping to US. It is highly likely that Apple Lightning Dock will quickly get famous as it will be the official Lightning Dock for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and people would prefer to buy this one over the other third-party docks available in the market.
