Black & Decker Lithium Stick Vacuum Review

The Black & Decker Lithium Stick Vacuum is quite good for vacuuming big particles; yet, it is hardly the best model for pet owners, as it lacks the power and features to get the tedious job done. But, some would say that it may not have enough features to be worth the $300 it costs, although many consumers debate that its ORA technology is well worth the price. Let’s take a closer look.
Design
The design is quite slick and impressive. The Black & Decker vacuum cleaner is light, has an adjustable handle, and is characterized by a very compact size. In addition, assembly is extremely simple – all you have to do is to snap a couple of pieces together.
The Black & Decker can run on battery or can be plugged into the nearest power point. If you are going to use battery power, the manufacturer advises to fully charge it first. There are four LED indicators keeping you updated on the battery life. The first bulb lights up on 0-25 percent, the second one – on 25-50%, etc. You will need about 4 hours to fully charge / recharge the battery.
Its grey minimalistic design looks dignified and appealing. Plus, the model weights about 8 pounds (3.6 kg), so it easy to maneuver. With a simple touch of the button, you can convert the Black & Decker vacuum into a portable, handheld device. The nozzle design is great for vacuuming under furniture.
Functionality
Though, of course, its overall functionality leaves some room for the improvement. First of all, its low-wattage is not enough to ensure normal sucking capabilities. It will do the job on a wooden floor, or in the house with no pets. Yet, if you have animals at home, the Black & Decker vacuum will not be enough to get rid of all the hair.
Also, the dust bag is tiny and requires constant cleaning. It is not difficult to clean it up, yet you have to do it on a regular basis.
Key Findings
Strong points include sleek design, good maneuverability, lightness, and easy bag emptying.
Weak points are poor suction capabilities, small dust bag, and short battery life. In addition, it is totally useless for pet owners, as all it does is messes up the pet fur. All in all, cleaning with the Black & Decker Lithium Stick Vacuum is more effort consuming than it should be.
To put it frankly, the vacuum does not have enough features to cost $300. In this price range it is possible to find a lot of other models featuring greater functionality and usability. But the Black & Decker Lithium Stick Vacuum has all the functionalities of a decent vacuum and its maneuverability and design may well be worth it after all.
