Bonavita BV1900TS Review — Fantastic Coffee at a Fantastic Price

Let’s be honest:  the first glance impression of the Bonavita BV1900TS is not awe inspiring.  There are no flashy LCD panels, no strobing LED buttons.  There is no intricate control panel with an instruction manual five inches thick.  The Bonavita sports only one button, in fact:  a simple on/off switch.  Once pushed, however, that simple on button brews up a rich, astonishingly fantastic cup of drip coffee.

This compact little coffee maker is quite deceptive when first viewed.  It isn’t flamboyant like those high priced Technivorm models.  It isn’t complicated to clean or use like brewers offered up by Cuisinart or Breville.  The Bonavita is simply a shiny steel coffee maker with black plastic trim that is easy to use, and includes a thermal carafe.

What to Expect

This is what you get:  exceptional coffee brewed up at a fraction of the price of its competitors.  If that is what you’re looking for, then the new $190 Bonavita BV1900TS is waiting for you..  Simple to use, unassuming in its appearance, cleans up in a flash, and $100 less than its rivals.  That is a winning combination by anyone’s estimation.

The Bonavita also knows its place in the kitchen.  It won’t take up much space on your cabinet, measuring only 11.5 inches high and 10 inches wide.  It is a scant 6.75 inches deep, leaving plenty of room for other appliances, even in kitchens where countertop real estate is at a premium.

Downside? Can’t Find Any

If there is a downside to this incredible little brewer, it is hard to pinpoint  There is no flashy show of coffee creation; just water draining at a rapid rate and a red light on the power switch.  While you won’t be entertained by a bubbling chorus, you will quickly find yourself enjoying the anticipated aroma of fresh brewed coffee, heated to perfection and awaiting your cup.

The Verdict

The Bonavita BV1900TS is a winning addition to any kitchen, and a welcome part of any morning ritual.  Start the day off with an amazingly delicious cup of fresh brewed coffee from a coffeemaker that does what it is supposed to do:  make your life easier and your mornings better.  You can spend much more on a high-end machine that will produce a cup of coffee, but why would you?  This sleek, shiny steel, compact little brewer does it all, and does it well.  What more do you need?
