Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow bietet einen Doppeltipp zum Starten der Kamera sowie Emoji, Schriftarten und eine neue Google-Tastatur

Android 6.0.1 has launched for Nexus devices (with the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X), and we’ve heard a quick rundown of what the new update offers for Nexus devices and Android as a whole: in addition to the scheduled December security update that is included in Android 6.0.1, we’ve also seen the new over 200 emoji (including Taco, Unicorn, and others), in addition to a few new fonts and the new Google keyboard. What hasn’t been as publicized is that Android 6.0.1 also brings older Nexus devices (Nexus 5, 6, 7, 9) a double tap to launch camera action feature. The new feature has been reported by tech site Android Police.

The double tap to launch camera action feature allows you to access the camera, even when the screen is off, which saves time and effort to unlock the screen then find the feature. The Nexus 5, for example, lacks a fingerprint sensor, but the new Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will have it — and using your fingerprint when you need the camera quickly can prove to be an inconvenience. Google placed the double tap to launch camera feature on the power button and not the home button because of the fingerprint sensor. You can activate this new feature by pressing the power button to put your phone in standby mode, then, with the screen off, tap the power button twice.  Additionally, we’ve heard from one source that Android 6.0.1 also supports Band 12 LTE for T-Mobile’s Nexus 6P, 5X, and Nexus 6, and that T-Mobile is working with Google to bring Voice over LTE (or VoLTE) to current update-eligible Nexus devices.

No other changes under the hood for Android 6.0.1 have been spotted at this point, but it seems as though, outside of the new emoji, there are few others worth noting. Still, we’re peering into the new incremental update and will let you know if any new changes are spotted.
