LG G5-Modellnummer in Benutzerdetails entdeckt, erweist sich als G4-Nachfolger

The LG G5 has been rumored to be a real, living smartphone, but where’s the proof? Consumers always want to know what tangible evidence they can hold onto to gauge decisions about whether or not to purchase the new smartphone or pass it up for something coming down the pipeline. Now, thanks to tech site NapiDroid, we now have a model number for the LG G5 that has surfaced within user details (see image above).

The LG G5 will have the model number LG-H830, making it the successor flagship of the LG G4 (which had a model number of LG-H810). The user details were published or uncovered as of January 15th (just five days ago), and shows that the device will also run Android 6.0 (not 6.0.1, apparently, as the Galaxy S7 will) and have a build number of MRA58K — which seems to be the build number of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are no other details, but we know that the model number LG-H830 doesn’t currently exist in any of LG’s lineup. Thus, it has to refer to a new LG smartphone or mobile device from the Korean manufacturer that’s to be announced this year.

Rumors have stated that the LG G5 will feature a full metal body, will LG providing something of a “modular” drawer for the battery so as to keep it removable. The microSD card slot will remain, but LG intends to make a “magic slot” out of it, keeping it around for VR and Bluetooth headsets as well in addition to expandable storage capabilities. A 5.5-inch, Quad HD display (2,560 x 1,440p) will be the first things new buyers see when they turn on the screen, and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor will be housed within the device. 3GB of RAM is an easy guess for multitasking here, as it seems that Samsung has only decided to give 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM to its own devices without sharing it at the moment.

LG will announce the LG G5 at Mobile World Congress 2016 at the end of February. Stay tuned to Aptgadget as we bring you more up-to-the-minute details.
