Blackberry just announced their Blackberry Classic smartphone which has been teased a lot from time to time by the company its self. Blackberry Classic comes with the look that we all are familiar with, the reason what Blackberry is known for, the Bold series which comes with a full QWERTY physical keyboard and physical navigation keys.
Blackberry Classic is equipped with a 3.5 inch display that supports a resolution of 720 x 720, Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core SOC, though we are not sure about which one and 2GB of RAM. There is also an 8MP camera on the back while a 2MP camera at the front. Black Classic is smaller in size compared to Blackberry Passport which has a 4.5 inch display, therefore it’s designed to be used in one hand. The resolution on the smartphone has also been improved while retaining the same display size compared to the old Bold series.
The smartphone will be running Blackberry OS 10 and will come with tool like Hub, Assistant, and Blend pre installed. Android apps can also be downloaded onto the device but that will be done through the help of Amazon Appstore that also comes pre installed onto the device.
Blackberry Classic smartphone is designed for those people who are not into gaming and browsing the web a lot. It’s a smartphone designed for those users who have been loyal to Blackberry for ages. We think that the Blackberry Classic is for those users who wanted an updated version of Bold with the same classic look that Blackberry is known for.
Blackberry Classic was announced in New York and will be sold for $449 on Amazon, while the smartphone would also be available through different carriers around the world. Maybe Blackberry is not dead yet as the company launched two smartphones in this year.
