Have you used Siri for much of your iPhone experience? I know, some people think that Google Now is far more capable of providing the information you want when you need it, but Siri has something Google Now does not: she (or he, thanks to the new male gender option) has a personality. Siri can tell jokes, has rather clever answers at times, while Google Now has a static personality (if you can even call it that).

Well, Siri proves her (or his) resourcefulness here by giving away the dates for Apple’s upcoming WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC 2016) . Just ask Siri, “when is WWDC?,” and the voice assistant will respond, “The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held June 13 through June 17 in San Francisco. I’m so excited!”

WWDC 2016 is, as has been the case every year, a chance for Apple to showcase new MacBooks, the new OS X, Apple’s MacBook operating system, as well as iOS (the new major update) and what changes users can expect to an excellent operating system overall. Apple has spent nearly every WWDC showcasing the new iOS, giving itself between June and September (when Apple releases it to the public) the chance to work on fixing and squashing software bugs, quirks, and other failing features.

Apple usually announces the new iOS and Mac OS X so as to give users a chance to decide whether or not to upgrade. Apple now has a public beta program for OS X that allows users to give feedback on improvements needed to the OS before its mass public release.

This year’s WWDC 2016 will see Apple announce iOS 10, and the Mac OS X update will see Apple give it a name that seems to match locations in California. We’ve seen this with OS X Mavericks, OS X Yosemite, and so on. A more credible rumor says that Apple intends to stick with “MacOS” as the name for the MacBook’s operating system, with the company possibly ditching the naming convention it’s been using for the last few years.

WWDC 2016 will be held in the Moscone Center, where it has been held for the last few years.
