Confirmado: iPhone 6s y iPhone 6s Plus tienen 2 GB de RAM, iPad Pro 4 GB de RAM

Adobe teased tech enthusiasts last week immediately following the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus announcement with the claim that the iPad Pro had 4GB of RAM. This seemed unbelievable at the time, especially because Apple has never placed that much RAM into any of its products (the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have 1GB of RAM, and the iPad Air 2 has 2GB of RAM, which is a first for its iPad line). Adobe later pulled its Creative Cloud press release, despite the fact that the Creative Cloud suite of software is indeed pre-installed with the iPad Pro experience, as was announced on stage last Wednesday.

Well, an iOS developer by the name of Hamza Sood dived into Xcode to find whether or not Adobe’s claim was true and the answer to the question of the iPhone RAM, and he did: the rumors are true. “Not much of a surprise but Xcode confirms 2GB of RAM for the 6s (and 6s plus), and 4GB for the iPad Pro,” Sood wrote via Twitter yesterday afternoon.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, in addition to the additional 1GB of RAM, also feature new 5MP front cameras and 12MP back cameras, alongside of a rose gold color option. The iPhone 6s did not gain OIS this year, which means that you’ll only get optical image stabilization in the iPhone 6s Plus. The iPad Pro is a new territory for Apple, costing $800 for the 32GB version, $950 for the 64GB, and $1100 for the 128GB version. Apple’s own take on the stylus, dubbed “Apple Pencil,” will cost an additional $99 and is rechargeable.

It’s good to know the truth, but we wish Apple had been forthright about this on stage. After all, making a productivity tablet such as the iPad Pro seems to demand higher RAM, and tech enthusiasts would expect to know about the RAM as well as the megapixel count for cameras (alongside of the camera aperture, another factor Apple did not announce on stage).
