El Moto X (2016) se insinúa en el anuncio del ZUK Z2 Pro

We here at Aptgadget have been referring to the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in leaked images and photos, but so far, we’ve seen little to affirm or deny the presence of another Motorola Moto X flagship. Well, a significant hint has been dropped, courtesy of Motorola’s parent company, Lenovo (who acquired the company from search engine giant Google), regarding what could be the Moto X (2016).

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said that an “exciting” Motorola handset will be announced on June 9th, in the middle of the company’s announcement of the ZUK Z2 Pro. At this point, it could be the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, or both, but the high-end market is anxiously awaiting the unveiling of another Moto X — particularly because Motorola has been placed in the same giant list as LG and Samsung. A Moto G4 or Moto G4 Plus would have some validity in the market, but it wouldn’t be the high-end and it wouldn’t garner the attention of high-end devices. Consumers choose what’s available to them, and there’s a reason why the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will find more room on carrier store shelves and displays than the Moto G or Moto E, two examples of lower-range devices.

We don’t have any information on what the Moto X (2016) could bring, except to say that it’s likely the device would come pre-loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by default (unless it ships after the arrival of Android 7.0 N) and perhaps have the same 21MP back camera that the Droid Turbo 2 has (if not a bigger battery to boot). And yet, all of that discussion seems more geared toward the Droid Turbo 2 than the Moto X (2016), a device that Motorola marketed last year (Moto X 2015) as a “Pure Edition,” free from the so-called bloatware of carriers and Motorola itself. The Moto X (2016) could see a fingerprint sensor change, as the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus photos that have been circulating the Web show a “squirrel” fingerprint sensor. The circulated video bears the same testimony.

At this rate, stay tuned for more details. For now, though, Motorola fans, mark your calendars: 6/9 is quickly approaching.
