Anunciado el OnePlus 3 con 6 GB de RAM y unibody

Tras las numerosas filtraciones de fotos y la filtración de última hora de la hoja de especificaciones antes de la presentación, el OnePlus 3 ya es oficial.

We’d heard for the last few weeks that the OnePlus 3 would definitely come in a few variants with a few RAM and storage configurations, but OnePlus decided to emerge with only one variant for all customers: a 5.5-inch, Optic AMOLED display with Full HD (1,920 x 1,080p screen resolution), 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, Sony 8MP front camera, Sony 16MP back camera, 64GB of storage, and a 3,000mAh sealed battery with no removable one this time around. The device features an all-metal unibody design (cough, cough, LG, this is how you do “unibody”!), leaving little room for the claim that the device isn’t “premium.” With LG’s G5 and now the OnePlus 3 sporting metal bodies, it seems as though companies are opting for aluminum metal designs because of consumer preference. Apple’s iPhone has sold the metal unibody construction as a trademark since the iPhone 5, and it seems as though, HTC excepted, the major Android players (and some minors, even) are starting to take notice.

We were told the the new OP3 would make us choose between 4GB and 6GB of RAM; we didn’t get that. As for the 32GB and 64GB storage options, OnePlus opted for 64GB (for which we’re grateful). The company has provided solid camera experience on the OnePlus 3, though the verdict will remain out on this front until the cameras have been put through rigorous, expert testing. Some have said that the company’s device looks plain this year, but OnePlus made one right decision apart from build quality and storage option: it added an AMOLED panel to this year’s OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 1 and OnePlus 2 both had IPS LCD screens but didn’t look all that appealing. Their washed-out nature from a distance made them a bad investment. Displays are often the first thing you see for devices, making a washed-out display a bad option for anyone wanting a top-of-the-line smartphone.

The OnePlus 3 isn’t the most unique device on the market, but OnePlus did bring NFC to the device (finally), meaning that consumers will not need to compromise on flagship specs for “the flagship killer.” The OnePlus 3 costs $399 and is available now at http://oneplus.net, so you may want to head on over and pick up your new favorite smartphone if you like what we’ve said here.
