El LG V20 desbloqueado llega a B&H el 2 de octubre

The LG V20 has already been announced, but LG has provided little information on when we can expect the device to be available worldwide. You’d think that any company wanting to win in the consumer market would provide as much information about a device as possible. Sadly, that isn’t the case with LG. A new pre-order date reminds us that the carrier-locked version of the LG V20 will come. The subject of this post, however, is the unlocked LG V20 that is headed to B&H Photo on October 2nd.

B&H Photo is usually a participant in offering unlocked LG smartphones before they arrive at carriers. The online retailer offered an LG G5 bundle featuring the Cam Plus and 360 VR headset earlier this year, so it’s not a surprise to see B&H Photo come back with an unlocked LG V20 smartphone offering. The current offer for the device is that you can pick up a 64GB unlocked LG V20 that comes in Silver. The date is October 2nd, but keep in mind that this is a pre-order date for the device, not the arrival date. B&H Photo will officially sell the unlocked LG V20 on Monday, October 17th, but those who don’t want to wait can go ahead and dive in.

Just as a refresher, the unlocked LG V20 (as is the case with carrier models) features a 5.7-inch, IPS LCD panel with a Quad HD resolution (2,560 x 1,440p), Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 5MP front camera and 8/16MP back cameras (back camera differs based on region), Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio, a 3,200mAh removable battery, and Android Nougat (or Android 7.0). The V20, true to the last-minute discoveries, does not have the modular detach portion that the G5 has; instead, it has the battery in a familiar place that can be swapped using the old method instead of the new one debuting on the LG G5 that will make your head spin (see our G5 removable battery how-to).

LG went back to the familiar in hopes of recovering some sales and making up for lost time with the G5, but the company has said that it’s not done with modularity: it intends to continue crafting the “G” line as a modular series while making the V line more about high-end specs, great audio, and a device that musicians and artists will grow to love. Whether or not LG’s efforts are successful is anyone’s guess, but the company has come to far to give up now.
