Google says its Nexus 6P fills that desire that many consumers have for a device with a wide display that feels thinner and lighter than it should be.

The Mountain View, California search engine giant took the stage today in San Francisco to announce its top flagship, the Nexus 6P (along with the Nexus 5X), but the company wanted to point out that it feels smaller in hand than it should. Apple has gone with 5.5-inch displays in its iPhone 6 Plus and now, the iPhone 6s Plus, and LG has gone with a 5.5-inch display in its 2015 flagship, the LG G4. Samsung, however, has stuck to 5.7-inch displays in the Galaxy Note line, and added a Galaxy S6 edge+ with a 5.7-inch display to its lineup on August 13th, when the Korean manufacturer announced it alongside of the Galaxy Note5.

The Nexus 6P comes with, in addition to its 5.7-inch display, an aluminum body (the company’s first metal flagship), an 8MP front camera, 13MP back camera (or, to be precise, a 12.3MP), with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Nexus 6P will start at the price of $499 for the 32GB model, $549 for the 64GB model, and $649 for the 128GB model. Google has also said that it will not carry the Nexus 6P in retail stores as it did with the Nexus 6, but that it will instead turn to its own online store to sell the devices.

Google decided to go with a 5.7-inch display, seeing that the company made a mistake when it turned to the 5.95-inch Motorola Nexus 6 last year.
