Sony has released its Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium, but the company finds itself in the same boat as all other Android OEMs: customers want to know when they can expect the latest and greatest. Some Sony customers will find themselves happy over the latest news: a number of devices will jump from Android 5.0 Lollipop, their current update, and skip 5.1 Lollipop in favor of Android Marshmallow (6.0).<\/p>\n

Sony made the announcement via its own update blog: As you\u2019ve probably seen Google unveil Android version 6.0 Marshmallow, we\u2019ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap and plans \u2013 so, here goes\u2026<\/p>\n

We will make Android 6.0, Marshmallow available for: Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia C4,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

the blog said earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Sony has yet to roll out the new Android Marshmallow update, but you can be sure that, if the company does release it, we\u2019ll be here to cover it.<\/p>\n
