The Lumia 640 isn\u2019t all that impressive by 2015 high-end standards, but it can give you a good idea as to what Windows Mobile is all about. The device features a 5-inch, IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720p, a 1.2Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, a 0.9MP front camera, 8MP back camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a 2,500mAh battery. Microsoft has placed a Nexus 5 camera into the body of a Lumia, and, with the HD resolution, the device should provide a good bit of battery life. While the Lumia 640 currently runs Windows 8.1, Microsoft says that the device will get Windows 10 Mobile \u2013 so you need not run from it because it doesn\u2019t bear the latest yet.<\/p>\n
Even more impressive than the specs is the price: $29.99, off-contract. However (and this is the caveat), the Lumia 640 will force you to use AT&T\u2019s carrier-locked network if you want to experience cellular connectivity. Unfortunately, you don\u2019t get to use this device with other carriers like Sprint and Verizon, but AT&T subscribers may find some joy in having a substitute device should their current smartphone die or get destroyed due to the elements.<\/p>\n
