How to fix AirPrint not working after iOS update

After upgrading to a new iOS version, you may experience issues with AirPrint. Usually the problem that users experience is that it is not possible to print via AirPrint. You may come across an error that says “No AirPrinter Printer” and won’t be able print with network printers. There are different options to address the issue and here you will find a variety of methods that can help. They are likely to resolve a lot of the problems experienced with AirPrint. They have proven to be effective for many Apple users so they are worth trying.

Method 1

  1. Turn off your router and then the printer
  2. Turn off your iOS device through the reset option
  3. Turn the router on and allow between 30 to 60 seconds
  4. Turn on the printer and wait up to 60 seconds
  5. Turn your iOS on and then try to print again

Method 2

Reset your iOS device. Press the power button and home key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. After the reset, your printer may start working again since it will recognize the process and print without issues.

Method 3

If you are unable to find the printer through AirPrint, you can follow these steps:

Go to Settings, then to WiFi Settings and select “Forget this network”.

Reboot the device. Log in to the network again and check if the printer is recognized now.

Method 4

If you are still experiencing issues, it is possible that it is due to the printer’s firmware. Make sure that it is running the most recent update and that it is on the same network as the router. In addition, the router needs to support Bonjour.

Method 5

It may sound obvious, but it is important to make sure that the printer has paper and ink. This is often overlooked when there are issues affecting the printer’s performance, but it is the first thing that should be checked. If that is not the reason for the problem, the next option that you can try is to turn off the printer power and allow some time before you turn it on again. Take a look at the printer to see if it shows any error message, indicators or lights on the control panel. Also, check if the printer is supported by AirPrint.

Even if all the above fails, don’t worry. It is likely that the issue will be solved once you upgrade to a new version of iOS.
