Apple unveils Apple Watch – Apple Watch Edition costs $10,000

Alongside the 12 inch MacBook, which carries a starting price of $1,299, Apple also unveiled one of the most highly coveted wearables on the planet, the Apple Watch. Unlike the MacBook, the official release date of the Apple Watch will be April 24, 2015. However, potential Apple Watch consumers looking to snare the company’s first ever wearable can also opt to place their order via pre-order, which starts from April 10, 2015, which also happens to be the official release date of the new MacBook.

The starting price of the Apple Watch will be from $349, which is highly steep, even for a wearable. However, there are other pricing denominations of the smartwatch, all of which carry an extremely exorbitant price tag and will be targeted to those who are not bound by any financial constraints. The most expensive Apple Watch will be for $17,000 and currently, the Cupertino tech giant has not stated if it plans on rolling out even more expensive models in the foreseeable future.

As for the battery life, Apple states that its wearable will be able to provide up to 18 hours, which is far more than smartwatches running Google’s Android Wear platform are able to deliver. In addition, for added flexibility, Apple has added a magnetic charger for charging purposes, which is something completely new compared to the USB or lighting cables that come with Apple’s lineup of notebooks and iPhones respectively.
