Les Galaxy Note 5 et S6 edge Plus d'AT&T reçoivent Android Marshmallow

Google released its Android Marshmallow update for the Nexus 6, Nexus 5, and other Nexus devices on October 5th, and it’s now been nearly 9 months since the update was released from Google to Nexus devices. The Galaxy Note 5 has received the Marshmallow update, though not all Note 5 models have received it because of varying carriers and their upgrade programs and times. The Sprint Galaxy Note 5 received Android Marshmallow back in March, nearly 4 months ago now, and Verizon released Marshmallow for its Galaxy Note 5 around the same time in the same month. T-Mobile released its Galaxy Note 5 update somewhere in-between, and now, AT&T finally joins the fun. AT&T Galaxy Note 5 customers can now download Android Marshmallow on their devices, being a Johnny-come-lately to the Marshmallow party. The Galaxy S6 edge Plus with AT&T will also see the Marshmallow update now and, with a device that was announced at the same time as the Note 5, it’s proper that this “extra edge” device would see the next major update to Google’s Android OS.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 5 Android Marshmallow update brings the same sweet mobile goodness that Marshmallow has brought to other Android devices, with the exception being Samsung’s own TouchWiz additions and security patches to it. The AT&T Galaxy Note 5 will also have some AT&T enhancements that time won’t permit us to describe here, so don’t worry if, in the update, you discover something new that we haven’t mentioned here. You’ll find the new Marshmallow update brings your AT&T Galaxy Note 5 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the build number MMB29K.N920AUCU2BPE6 and weighing in at a hefty 1.37GB.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 5 Android Marshmallow update brings customized app permissions, detailed battery stats, Touch to Search with Google’s Now On Tap, and Doze mode for your phone when it’s idle. Of course, the AT&T Galaxy Note 5 is getting its sweet update around the same time that Google is now trying to find a name for Android N (we believe it will be Android Nutella), which means that the nation’s second wireless giant (behind Verizon, that is) really dropped the ball with this one. It’s things like this that make customers shudder at the thought of picking up the Galaxy S7 Active and hoping that the device will have long-term product support and fast updates.

If you’re ready to grab the update, head on over to your phone’s software update settings and hit that update button. Come back and let us know that you grabbed the update — and whether or not you like or love the changes.
