HP, adamant of getting back in to the game has revealed a brand new device with a unique set of functionalities. The HP Sprout, combines the workings of a computer, projector, and scanner and is placed in to a single product. The Sprout requires no mouse nor keyboard to function. Instead, its navigation is dependent on the user summoning a digital keyboard (by placing the fingers on a mat coming with the device).
The mat features a 20-point multitouch, and comes with its own stylus. The display also possesses a multi-touch interface. As for the remainder of the specifications, the HP Sprout comes with a 23-inch desktop that is powered by an Intel Core i7. For storage purposes, the Sprout comes with 1 TB of storage, and for graphics rendering and multitasking options, a NVIDIA GeForce GT 745A graphics chip and 8 GB of RAM have been added respectfully.
The Sprout also features a DLP projector, LED lamp, and 14.6 megapixel camera that is mounted on the top of the 23 inch display. One of the most innovative things that this product can do is let users scan objects and manipulate them in 2D or 3D results, which are projected on to the display. The lamp mounted on top of the display comes equipped with 4 cameras and combined with Intel’s RealSense 3D camera, these 2D and 3D images can be projected on to the screen.
The company is calling this sort of thing as Blended Reality ecosystem, and HP is going to pitch the idea to several companies to partner with them but regardless, the product will officially launch on the 9th of November. With applications such as Evernote, Skype, Office, and future support for Adobe, the HP Sprout will set you back by $1900.
