Activer l'affichage permanent pour le LG G5

The LG G5 features what we call an Always On Display (or AOD, for short) that allows you to view the time at a glance without turning on your phone. The company unveiled their AOD at the same time that Samsung also announced their own AOD for the Galaxy S7. The advantage to the Always On Display on the LG G5, though, which is in contrast to that of the Galaxy S7, is that you can view not only the time, day of the week, and the exact date, but also notifications such as Gmail, Telegram, app updates, Slack, Google+, Facebook, and so on.

So, since the LG G5 offers a slight advantage with regard to its notifications on the Always On Display, it may appeal to some to use this feature that they’d otherwise turn off to save battery. To turn on the Always On Display for the LG G5, perform the following steps:

  • First, visit your phone settings, which you can find by way of the “wheel” icon at the top right of the drop-down notification window.
  • While in settings, select “Display.”
  • In your Basic Display settings, you’ll see a feature called “Always On Display.” Press the toggle and watch it go to the right with a “green” button on the left side. If the button is “green,” then the feature is on. If it’s gray, the feature is disabled.

You can tap on “Always On Display” and customize your AOD apart from someone else’s by choosing either a 1) Time or 2) Signature. There isn’t much customization outside of this, though, but it adds a little personal touch to your LG G5.

The LG G5 is LG’s latest take on the smartphone market and where the company intends to take its customer base and technology for yet another year, and the Always On Display is one feature we know you won’t want to disable after enabling it. At the same time, the AOD of the LG G5 is extremely dim and we hope LG will brighten it for customers in the future, though we think it’s dim to cut down on and conserve battery.

Do you have any questions about the LG G5 that you’d like to pose to us? If so, place them below and we’ll do our best to answer them as soon as we can.
