L'indignation a \u00e9t\u00e9 provoqu\u00e9e par plusieurs attaques par d\u00e9ni de service distribu\u00e9 (DDoS) contre le fournisseur de DNS Dyn.<\/p>\n<p>Dyn et d'autres fournisseurs de DNS \u00e9tablissent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement un lien entre les URL que vous tapez dans un navigateur et les adresses IP correspondantes. Les attaques DDos sont principalement utilis\u00e9es pour censurer certains sites web en les submergeant de trafic ind\u00e9sirable et en les mettant hors ligne. En attaquant Dyn, il est possible de submerger cette fonction de r\u00e9pertoire, ce qui se traduit par un outrage important \u00e0 certains sites web. Steve Grobman, directeur de la technologie chez Intel Security, a compar\u00e9 l'attaque d'une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de services de noms de domaine \u00e0 la d\u00e9sactivation du GPS ou \u00e0 la destruction d'une carte avant de se rendre dans un grand magasin. Peu importe que le magasin soit ouvert et fonctionne \u00e0 plein r\u00e9gime si vous n'avez aucune id\u00e9e de la mani\u00e8re dont vous allez vous y rendre.<\/p>\n<p>Les attaques DDoS contre Dyn ont commenc\u00e9 t\u00f4t vendredi matin. Les services ont \u00e9t\u00e9 temporairement r\u00e9tablis vers 9h30, mais une deuxi\u00e8me attaque, qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 vers midi, a de nouveau mis les sites hors ligne. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dynstatus.com\/incidents\/nlr4yrr162t8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dyn a r\u00e9pondu<\/a> en indiquant que les ing\u00e9nieurs s'effor\u00e7aient d'att\u00e9nuer le probl\u00e8me, bien qu'une troisi\u00e8me vague d'attaques ait commenc\u00e9 vers 4:30 ET avant d'\u00eatre totalement r\u00e9solue environ deux heures plus tard.<\/p>\n<p>Dyn a indiqu\u00e9 que la complexit\u00e9 des attaques l'emp\u00eachait de les g\u00e9rer instantan\u00e9ment. Les attaques \u00e9taient distribu\u00e9es, provenant de millions d'adresses IP sources r\u00e9parties dans le monde entier. M. York, de Dyn, a expliqu\u00e9 que les pirates se d\u00e9pla\u00e7aient dans le monde entier \u00e0 chaque attaque. M. York a indiqu\u00e9 que l'attaque DDos visait initialement les centres de donn\u00e9es de l'entreprise sur la c\u00f4te Est, avant de se d\u00e9placer vers les centres de donn\u00e9es internationaux. L'attaque comportait des \"nuances sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 certaines parties de l'infrastructure\".<\/p>\n<p>Dave Allen, directeur juridique de Dyn, a indiqu\u00e9 qu'avec l'aide d'autres soci\u00e9t\u00e9s d'infrastructure, Flashpoint et Akamai, ils avaient d\u00e9termin\u00e9 qu'une partie du trafic utilis\u00e9 dans l'attaque provenait du botnet Mirai, un r\u00e9seau d'appareils de l'internet des objets infect\u00e9s qui est utilis\u00e9 dans d'autres attaques DDoS \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle tr\u00e8s r\u00e9centes. Les appareils de l'internet des objets sont peu co\u00fbteux et tr\u00e8s vuln\u00e9rables, ce qui les rend faciles \u00e0 cibler.<\/p>\n<p>Dans la plupart des cas, les attaques DDoS sont suivies de lettres d'extorsion demandant \u00e0 l'entreprise de remettre des bitcoins en \u00e9change de la cessation de l'attaque.
