A spokesman from Microsoft told in an interview to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2015\/2\/3\/7974759\/windows-rt-is-dead\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TheVerge<\/a> that the company has stopped manufacturing the last Windows RT tablet.<\/p>\n<p>After acquiring Nokia mobile hardware business back in 2014, the Windows RT devices came under Microsoft control. The spokesman said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We are no longer manufacturing Nokia Lumia 2520; however, those still eager to buy Nokia Lumia 2520 should visit Microsoft Retail Stores, MicrosoftStore.com, third-party retailers and resellers for the latest availability.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Windows RT is not a separate OS, it\u2019s just a toned down version of Windows 8 which Microsoft developed so that the devices having ARM based processors could run Windows RT without any performance issues. Windows RT was created to extend the battery life of devices and also to cut down the costs of devices. A lot of people were confused and had difficulty in understanding the differences between Windows 8 and Windows RT. A major factor that halted the adoption of Windows RT tablets was its inability to run desktop applications that would normally run on a Windows 8 device.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Microsoft is killing the Windows RT platform, but it can live in one form or another as Microsoft is aiming to provide a common platform across tablets, phones and PCs by introducing Windows 10.
