Les cartes seront cr\u00e9\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es provenant d'Ordnance Survey, de TomTom, de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 g\u00e9ologique am\u00e9ricaine, de la Nasa et de Zenrin, un \u00e9diteur japonais de cartes.<\/p>\n

EeGeo, fond\u00e9e en 2010, a lanc\u00e9 sa premi\u00e8re carte publiquement en 2015. Depuis ce lancement, l'entreprise a d\u00e9croch\u00e9 des contrats de cartographie pour des clients internationaux tels que Samsung, Cisco et le V&A Museum of Design. Bien que la premi\u00e8re carte n'ait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue pour un usage commercial, elle a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9e 4,5 millions de fois.<\/p>\n

M. Hetherington et son \u00e9quipe de 20 ing\u00e9nieurs sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les jeux les plus raffin\u00e9s travaillent depuis cinq ans sur la technologie de cartographie mondiale. M. Hetherington indique qu'avant l'annonce de la cr\u00e9ation de l'entreprise, le nombre de t\u00e9l\u00e9chargements s'\u00e9levait \u00e0 quatre millions. Depuis, le mod\u00e8le a \u00e9t\u00e9 compl\u00e9t\u00e9 par des cerisiers en fleurs et des trains \u00e0 grande vitesse.<\/p>\n

Outre les jeux, la carte mondiale pourra \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re plus pratique pour indiquer l'emplacement des produits dans un centre commercial afin d'aider les clients \u00e0 naviguer rapidement ou m\u00eame pour suivre les patients et les \u00e9quipements dans un h\u00f4pital afin d'assurer une efficacit\u00e9 suffisante. M. Hetherington note que les \u00e9conomies r\u00e9alis\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la carte sont enti\u00e8rement en noir et blanc.<\/p>\n

Tout en poursuivant la cr\u00e9ation d'une carte mondiale, EeGeo se concentre \u00e9galement sur son prochain d\u00e9fi, \u00e0 savoir la cartographie de l'espace int\u00e9rieur, et d\u00e9veloppe un produit pour la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle.
