The Huawei\/Google Nexus 6P is 9 months old at this point, but the device still has a lot of life in it, particularly for consumers who’ve been waiting for the inevitable price drops. Well, Best Buy is famous for price drops on much-beloved products, with the retailer often dropping prices to lower levels than you’d see anywhere else. Google has its sights set on new phones this year (a 2016 Huawei Nexus 6P is in the works<\/a>, with confirmation from one GM<\/a>, along with what could be two budget-friendly HTC Nexus devices<\/a>), but the Nexus 6P is still a fantastic phone for those who don’t want to wait for what could be a mere iterative hardware upgrade. You may have been plotting that time to buy the device but haven’t had the money. The summer’s here, and you’d rather invest in the phone that spend money on a vacation you wouldn’t enjoy (not all vacations are enjoyable).<\/p>\n

Best Buy has decided to discount the price of the Nexus 6P from $499 for the 32GB base model to $419, which means that you’re looking at an $80 discount for Google’s 2015 flagship. The device features a 5.7-inch, AMOLED display with a Quad HD screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440p, an octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB\/64GB\/128GB of storage, 16MP back camera, 8MP front camera, and a 3,450mAh battery.<\/p>\n

Of course, when looking at the grand scheme of things, $80 isn’t much of a price drop, though it does beat the $50 price drops Google has teased us with<\/a> over the last six months, notably the $50 price drop inaugurated to celebrate the Google Store’s 1-year anniversary<\/a>. There is a bright side to this, however: all storage variants, the 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB Nexus 6P models, have all been discounted by $80. What this means is that you can get a 128GB Nexus 6P for $569 and the 64GB model for $469 alongside of the $419 32GB price. These prices are a steal for a flagship, and show Google’s commitment to bring its highest-priced smartphone to a more budget-friendly level so as to appease Nexus fans who were outraged over the Motorola\/Google Nexus 6’s starting retail price (a major deviation from Google’s budget-friendly pricing scheme in the Nexus line).<\/p>\n

You can jump in now if the water’s nice enough, but you could always wait for the the new 2016 Huawei Nexus 6P. Holding out for a few months may prove worthwhile for some, but if you’re a phone crazy who’s always updating your phone every few months, then jumping in now will be just as worthwhile to you as jumping in later.<\/p>\n
