Here are the new wallpapers for Android Marshmallow
There’s a tradition within Android that continues with each passing year and each new Android update: the wallpapers for the new update are made available. Android Marshmallow continues this trend, with the wallpapers having been made available in the Marshmallow Developer Preview.
There are ten wallpapers total for Android Marshmallow, with 7 of the 10 being landscape wallpapers. The other 3 are typical of the new Material Design language that Google showed off at Google I/O earlier this Spring with the announcement of Android M. Nexus devices are usually the first to receive the update (and this will continue with Android Marshmallow), although Motorola, owned by Google at one point, started to release the update for its devices earlier than Google released the new update for Nexus devices. Google, you may not know, is in charge of the Nexus devices – although it partners with different manufacturers each year. The Nexus 6 was a collaboration between Google and Motorola, the Nexus 5 (2013) was a partnership between Google and LG, and the Nexus 4 (2012) was a partnership between Google and LG. This year’s LG Nexus will be the third Nexus LG has manufactured with Google for hardcore vanilla Android users.
Android Marshmallow follows after Android Lollipop, KitKat, Jelly Bean, and Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0, was the last major update before Lollipop (5.0), and Android Marshmallow, labeled 6.0, will become the next major update following on the heels of Lollipop released with the Nexus 6 last Fall.
