iPhone 6s and 6s Plus release date, nomenclature, processor, and back camera confirmed by China Telecom

We’ve gathered information on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus release date, when pre-orders begin, the more durable iPhone 6s shell as opposed to the iPhone 6, as well as the camera megapixel bump confirmation. While we’ve gathered some significant pieces of information, hearing it from someone who’s closer to Apple than tech analysts may just do the trick.

The latest information confirmations on Apple’s next-generation iPhones come from China Telecom. A representative (who is not named due to the desire for anonymity) confirmed in a Weibo report that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus release date for China will take place sometime in the dates of September 18th and September 25th. We’ve already heard that September 9th is the magic date of the iPhone 6s announcement, so it only makes sense that China would get the new iPhones sometime after those in the US and UK. France has already confirmed it will get the new iPhones on September 11th, which is one week before Chinese customers can expect Apple’s latest and greatest.

The China Telecom representative also went on to confirm that, similar to what we’ve come to expect from “s” iteration models of Apple’s lineup, the iPhone 6s won’t look too different from last year’s iPhone 6 – so it’s probably not wise to buy the new model based on a new redesign. The camera will get the coveted megapixel bump from 8MP to 12MP in the new iPhone 6s.

What the China Telecom representative says that will be news to anyone having stayed afloat of iPhone rumors concerns the presence of Force Touch and the RAM inside of the upcoming iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. There will be 2GB of RAM in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, and Force Touch will be present on both the more expensive iPhone 6s Plus and the iPhone 6s (not just the 6s Plus). Apple will place its own in-house, A9 processor and M9 motion coprocessor into the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

We’re glad to see some details finally falling in place, as we’re sure that a lot of iPhone fans and faithful buyers want to know whether or not they should shelve out money for the new iPhones next month or hold off until another year. We’ve heard that Apple will bring the iPhone 6c to market, but we still have few details on the budget-friendliest of Apple’s iDevices.

That’ll do it for now. Stay tuned to Aptgadget as we bring you more details about these upcoming “apples.”
