iPhone 6s pre-orders to begin September 11th, carrier document shows

The iPhone 6s will be revealed next month (no surprise there), and yet, there’s so little known about the device. We have seen photo leaks, with some slight but ultimately insignificant differences between the upcoming iPhone 6s and the current iPhone 6. A French carrier document has now leaked, showing a pre-order commencement that gives us some insight as to when the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be announced.

The document, provided by Mac4Ever.com, shows the words “iPhone” and the date “11/09/15,” which, in English translation, comes out to September 11th. Keep in mind that this is the iPhone 6s pre-orders for the French carrier in question (currently a mystery), but this tells us that Apple will launch its new smartphones before the eleventh day of the month. In other words, expect Apple to announce its latest smartphones around the first week of September. The same document says, according to the source, that shipments on the pre-orders will occur by September 18th.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are expected to have RAM increases from 1GB to 2GB (now the industry standard), but the 6s Plus is rumored to have a 12 or 13MP back camera, as opposed to the current 8MP back camera on the iPhone 6 Plus. Force Touch, Apple’s smart touch technology used in the new MacBook, will make its way to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, and Apple seems to be sticking with its usual 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB memory configurations – much to the disdain of iPhone users who want Apple to go ahead and “eliminate the 16GB iPhone already.” Finally, Apple is rumored to have a 4-inch, iPhone 6c in the works, although a reliable source says that it seems highly unlikely such a device will arrive on the market until 2016.
