Oppo announced world’s thinnest smartphone – the Oppo R5

If you think the iPhone 6 is the world’s thinnest smartphone, think again as the Chinese manufacture named Oppo just announced their thinnest smartphone yet named Oppo R5 which is 4.85mm thick. Yes, it’s true though we don’t know how Oppo was able to make such a thin smartphone.
The smartphone sure is thin but does not compromise on the internal specs as well as the Oppo R5 is equipped with a 5.2 inch display that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a pixel density of 423ppi, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SOC which is an octa core processor that consists of 8 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and to power it all a 2000mAh battery. The smartphone is also equipped with a 13MP camera on its back while a 5MP camera at its front that comes with a lot of camera features like Fast Focus and Ultra HD which combines together a couple of pictures to make an HD picture taken from a 50MP camera.
The only thing that is disappointing about the Oppo R5 is the battery size that is 2000mAh but with a thin design like that Oppo had to give up on something and in this case it was the battery though Oppo does make up for the smaller battery with their fast charging as the Oppo R5 can charge up to 75% within 30 minutes.Oppo has also applied heat-absorbing material to the R5 as the phone is made out of aluminum which tends to get hot.
Oppo has not yet disclosed any details about the availability of the R5 but did say that the smartphone will retail for $499. What do you think about the slim Oppo R5, if you had to choose which one would you go for the iPhone 6 or the OppoR5?
