Samsung created new team to focus on robotics, VR and more

According to a source, Samsung has founded a new independent group that’s sole purpose is to focus on latest cutting edge technologies including robotics, virtual reality, 3D printing and modeling, drones and autonomous vehicles. The team’s only goal is to work on these technologies and develop innovative stuff.

According to a Samsung official, the team is independent and separate from other units and departments inside Samsung and their main purpose to create high end tech devices. These devices will help in improving daily life routines of the people. The official said in a statement to a publication,

“Given the significance of the team, members will have more authority and independence because the main purpose of the team isn’t to develop single devices for any imminent results, but to develop solutions to go with Samsung’s manufacturing capabilities.”

The reason for the creation of this new and independent group is still not clear although another spokesman from Samsung did elaborate few things about it. According to him, Samsung’s previous success has come due to its competitive prices compared to the rest of the market. But, this factor isn’t enough anymore. So, Samsung has to explore other ears in the tech industry and provide something new to the public which helps in driving more revenue and sales which will help the company to stay ahead of its competitors in the market.

A recent report published by IDC showed that the smartphone market is experiencing a down slope and even in times like this, Apple just fell short of overtaking Samsung for the top spot in global smartphone market in Q4, 2014.
