Today, Samsung officially announced the launch date of the new Galaxy Note 4 which is September 26. The phone will be launched first in Korea on the said date. Samsung said that it will cover more than 140 countries by the end of October.
Galaxy Note 4 is the fourth device in Samsung’s Galaxy Note series with Samsung S Pen technology. Samsung Note series established the base for large screen smartphones, also called phablets. According to some unconfirmed reports and unnamed Samsung employees, Samsung has decided to shift up the launch date for the Galaxy Note 4 after seeing how well Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models are doing in the market. Apple recently published a report showing that the latest iPhone model racked up record sales. Before this, the actual launch date for the next Note series device was set in October for Korea launch.
Among the two iPhone 6 models, iPhone 6 Plus is considered to be a direct rival for the upcoming Galaxy Note 4. Even though there’s a lot of difference in specs between the two devices, it’s still pretty hard to decide which device comes out on top of the other. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 2K display while Apple iPhone 6 Plus has a 1080p display.
Besides that, Galaxy Note 4 features a 16MP rear camera with Smart Optical Image Stabilizer that helps to extend the exposure of the camera in dark. Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink color however it is not confirmed whether these colors will be available worldwide or only in specific regions.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is already available for pre-order in US via AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
