Here we will present the fast way to turn off Apple TV 4th Gen. The latest version of Apple TV (5th generation) was launched just a few days ago, but we will focus on the previous one. The Apple TV 4th generation uses HDMI-CEC. This allows Apple TV remote to control the TV so you can turn on or off the device or adjust the volume.
Keep in mind that in order to be able to turn on or off your TV using Apple TV remote, it is necessary that your TV supports HDMI-CEC. You just need to press and hold the Home button down for 3 seconds. Select Sleep. Your ATV 4 device and TV will be turned off.
If you have previous versions of Apple TV such as Apple TV 1, 2 or 3, there are two options. Unless you are watching a movie, Apple TV will automatically go to sleep after one hour of inactivity. It is possible to change the settings by going to Settings, then General, and then Sleep After. There you can select if you want to set the time to 15, 30 minutes, 1 hour or Never.
