Verizon national trade-in event launches, gives up to $300 for newer handsets
Remember the Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) Galaxy S7/Galaxy S7 edge event Big Red launched some time ago? Well, that event has now come to an end. And yet, there’s little reason why this should worry Verizon customers because, well, there’s a larger promotion to take its place.
Verizon has now launched its national trade-in event, allowing any US customer anywhere within the 50 states to bring in their handset and get up to $300 toward a new one. The caveat here is that Verizon mandates you have a newer handset such as the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge Plus, LG G4, LG V10, HTC One M9, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, or even a Motorola Droid Turbo. Those who have one of these handsets can expect Verizon to pay them $312 back toward the cost of a new phone and end up with a smaller monthly installment plan.
Those who want to take advantage of the Verizon national trade-in event but have an older handset can bring in their device, trade it in, and get money to apply to a phone credit for a new down payment plan or a Verizon bill credit. It might be nice to have one month free after you purchase your new smartphone. Few months come free when you’re paying for reliable coverage and service at the “Cadillac of Carriers.”
So, as you can see, Verizon has taken away its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge deals to bring a more inclusive deal to all its customers. Also, just know that you can expect to pay a $20 activation fee with your new phone, as we’ve received no word that Verizon will waive the new fee (although it has done it for some customers in the past). Let us know if you’re a Verizon customer, what you’re trading in, and what phone you’re excited to pick up.
