Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun unveiled company’s new phablet device called Xiaomi Mi Note at an event in Beijing today. Surprisingly, the phablet is lighter and features a slightly bigger displayed compared to Apple’s iPhone 6 plus and is available at less than half the price of iPhone 6 Plus.
Xiaomi Mi Note, which is already dubbed as the iPhone 6 Plus biggest competitor in the market, is priced at 3,299 CNY for 16GB model which roughly equals to $530. Xiaomi’s CEO made quite a handful of references and comparison between iPhone 6 Plus and Xiaomi Mi Note. He said that he is proud that his company is able to launch a device which is lighter, thinner and has a bigger display than iPhone 6 Plus.
Xiaomi Mi Note features a 5.7 inch screen with 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
Another version named Mi Note Pro comes with 64 bit Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 gigs of RAM. It has 64GB internal storage and a 2K display. This version will be priced at 3,299 RMB which is approximately equal to $530.
Xiaomi Mi Note has a 13MP front facing camera with optical image stabilization. The device is powered by 3,000mAh battery.
One interesting thing to note about the Xiaomi Mi Note is that it has curved edges. These curves are not like the ones found in LG G Flex or Samsung Galaxy Note, instead it provides the phone with sleek curves and design.
