How to Add the Batteries Widget to Notification Center

When iOS 9 was released it impressed users with new features and enhancements, including a Low Power Mode that can extend the battery life for about one hour more and a convenient widget to Notification Center to be able to see the battery life of Bluetooth connected devices that you are using with your iPhone, in a single swipe. This widget allows you to check the battery percentage of all Bluetooth accessories connected to your iOS device. You can simply swipe down whenever you need to see the status of the battery.

The widget is designed for multiple batteries and not only for your iPhone’s battery, which you can simply check at the top of the screen. It shows the status of connected iOS supported devices, meaning that you won’t need to check each device to find out what is the battery percentage left. It is a practical option to get the battery information of your Apple Watch, wireless headset and other devices in one place. If you have one or more devices connected to your iPhone or iPad, you can add the batteries widget following the below steps. Note that the process is the same with iOS 10.

  1. Swipe down to launch Notification Center
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Today tab, until you find Edit and tap on it.
  3. Tap the + symbol in front of Batteries to add the widget. Keep in mind that it will only be available if there are any devices paired to your iPhone.
  4. Once you add the Batteries widget, you can position it as you prefer. Then tap Done at the top right corner.

Now that you have added the Batteries widget, you will be able to see the battery percentage of you devices at a glance. The widget also shows the charging status of the iPhone or the devices connected are being charged. If you wish to stop using the widget, you can remove it by using the – symbol in front of it.
