AT&T outs Galaxy S7 Active in BOGO deal

The Galaxy S7 Active has been leaked in photos, mentioned in Samsung’s own Level headphones changelog, and revealed in benchmarks with specs that aren’t all that surprising considering the Active smartphone line will go toe-to-toe with all other 2016 flagships when it comes to top-of-the-line specs. We’ve also seen the specs leak in their fullness, with the device sporting a 5.1-inch display instead of the earlier rumored 5.5-inch display. As for AT&T, the carrier’s logo has been plastered over all the Galaxy S7 Active photos we’ve seen so far — leading us to conclude, unfortunately, that the upcoming device will, once again, be an AT&T exclusive.

Now, AT&T has confirmed the existence of the phone and the month of its launch by way of the carrier’s current Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) deal. AT&T listed the phones that qualify for the BOGO deal, such as the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and S6 Active, and then the carrier mentions “Galaxy S7 Active” in as bold a font and print as you could list the device. Additionally, the form said that the BOGO deal expires June 30th; with this in mind, we can conclude that the Galaxy S7 Active will launch either in the next few days or the start of June, since the carrier will want to give customers some time to take advantage of the deal. If AT&T is going out of its way to list the device as part of the deal, then surely, the S7 Active unveil date isn’t too far off.

Of course, after having publicity drawn to the listing, AT&T pulled it from the form. If you search for it now, you won’t find it. Luckily, my colleagues over at SamMobile were able to get their hands on the listing and show us the listing that includes the not-yet-announced device before it was pulled and erased.

This will be an amazing deal for diehard Samsung customers who’ve been waiting to pick up the most ruggedized, element-resistant phone from both Samsung’s lineup and the market as a whole. And just think, soon, you’ll be able to get 2 of them. Please write in and let us know you took advantage of the deal. And, to start things off, make sure you pick up the Desert Camo color and prepare to send it to me, okay?
