Wie man iOS 13 Beta auf iOS 12 herunterstuft

When it comes to software updates, they don’t always run as smoothly as we’d like. Apple products are no different and are therefore prone to iOS update problems. If your device is affected by an iOS update issue, it may be better to revert back to your device’s previous version to help clear the bugs and glitches you are experiencing.
There are a multitude of reasons why you may want to downgrade your iPhone’s operating system. In some cases, users find that apps which they rely upon on a day to day basis become inhibited by new apps and features installed during the update. Some users experience system crashes or slow devices. Some users simply just don’t like the layout or features of the latest iOS version and wish to return to the old and familiar interface.
Whatever your reason for wanting to downgrade your iOS, we’ve got you covered – with this guide to downgrading iOS beta 13 back to iOS 12.
The latest iOS 13 version was released by Apple on Sept. 19, 2019 and the company will only continue to support the latest version of iOS 12 for a limited time. Judging by previous trends, it’s likely that Apple will stop their iOS 12 support sometime in October this year and once this happens, it will only be possible to downgrade from iOS 13 if you have saved your SHSH2 blobs.
There are three different ways to downgrade your operating system to iOS 12. All you need is a Mac or Windows PC with the latest version of iTunes, a USB cable, and an internet connection. The first method involves using ISPW restore to revert back to the previous iOS version. The second method uses Recovery Mode and the third and final method utilizes DFU mode to perform the downgrade. All three methods are relatively simple and shouldn’t cause you too much of a headache, just follow our step by step guide below.
And just a quick note – it’s not possible to restore iOS 13 beta backups to iOS 12, so be sure that you have completed a system backup with iOS 12 before downgrading your iOS, just in case you run into any problems. You can back up to iCloud, iTunes, or both. And if you back up to iTunes, make sure to archive the iOS 12 backup to ensure that it isn’t overwritten by a new backup.
How To Downgrade iOS 13 Beta to iOS Using IPSW
Download the iOS 12.4.1 IPSW firmware file that matches your iPhone or iPad model. Remember to make sure that the .ipsw file is in a place that is easy to find and access.
Launch iTunes on your Windows PC or Mac.
Connect your iOS 13 device to the computer
Select the connected device in iTunes by clicking on the device icon in the iTunes Menu Bar and then locate the summary section for the device and do the following depending on whether you are running Windows or Mac:
- Windows: Hold SHIFT and select “Update”
- Mac: Hold OPTION and select “Update”
Select the iOS 12.4.1 IPSW file that you downloaded in step 1 from the file browser and choose this as the restore option.
This will start the downgrade process. Your device’s screen will turn black and the device will reboot several times during this process.
The process of downgrading your iOS may take a while and it’s important to not disrupt this process during this time. Do not disconnect your device from the computer until the entire process has been completed. Interrupting the downgrading process will cause your device to become unusable until it has been restored again, most likely through Recovery Mode or DFU mode.
How To Downgrade iOS 13 Beta to iOS Using Recovery Mode
The other two downgrade iOS processes (Recovery Mode and DFU restore) will completely erase your device, meaning that you’ll need to either restore your device from a compatible backup file or simply set it up as new again. It’s important to remember that without a backup file, you’ll lose all data stored on your device. And again, remember that it’s not possible to restore an iOS 13 backup to an iOS 12 device.
Launch iTunes on your computer.
Connect your Apple device to the computer via a USB cable
Put the device into recovery mode. This process is different depending on your device:
- iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus: Press and release the Volume Up button and then press and release the Volume Down button. Next, press and hold the Power / Side button until the recovery mode screen appears.
- iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold the Power / Side button and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. Continue to hold the buttons until the recovery mode screen appears.
- iPad, iPad mini, and all iPad Pro models with Home button, iPhone 6s: Press and hold the Power / Side button and Home buttons simultaneously. Continue to hold both buttons until the recovery mode screen appears.
- iPad Pro (2018) and newer with Face ID: Press and release the Volume Up button, then press and release the Volume Down button. Next, press and hold the Power / Side button until the recovery mode screen appears.
When iTunes detects your device in recovery mode, select “Restore”. Remember that this will erase all data on your device and will install the current and stable iOS version.
Wait until your device has finished the recovery process. Your device will reboot several times during this process.
Once the recovery process is complete, your device will reboot with the regular set up process. You can then choose to restore the downgraded iOS from a backup or set it up as a new device.
Note: Sometimes a device can freeze while in recovery mode. Save yourself time and money by fixing this issue yourself with the help of an iOS system recovery tool.
How To Downgrade iOS 13 Beta to iOS Using DFU Mode
If the two above methods fail (a quite unlikely event) you’ll need to use the DFU method to reboot your operating system. The DFU method is typically only used when there is a major fault with the device, rendering it completely useless or frozen.
It’s basically a more in-depth version of Recovery Mode and follows the same downgrading process. They only difference being that you’ll need to place your device into DFU mode rather than recovery mode. This is a far more involved process than placing your device into recovery mode and differs between devices. For the sake of brevity, we aren’t able to list the process of placing your device into DFU mode. The best and easiest method of doing this is to use an iOS system recovery tool.
Once your device is in DFU mode, restore the device with iTunes and perform the downgrade by using the same steps outlined in the Recovery Mode method above.
