Apple rumored to be working on a 4 inch iPhone named the iPhone 6C

With the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple has tapped in to another smartphone market thanks to its large screen smartphones. The company was able to sell a total of 10 million combined units during the first three days of officially launching the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Now, it appears that Apple wants to jump back to producing 4 inch iPhones because a reliable source has stated that the Cupertino tech giant is rumored to be working on the iPhone 6C, which features a screen size of 4 inches.

Additional reports state that iPhone 6C will be incorporated with Apple’s A8 SoC; the same one that has been fitted in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Furthermore, the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6S will be assimilated with the A9 chipset, which is said to be manufactured on Samsung’s superior 14 nm FinFET architecture. Both handsets will also feature an NFC chip, although it has not been detailed whether or not that particular chip will be used to make contact-less transactions through Apple Pay or will users will actually be able to transfer data across devices wirelessly, which is the primary function of NFC.

One perk of owning one of the two handsets will be that they will be running Apple’s iOS 9 update, which will be more focused on providing performance improvements rather than adding an abundant number of features. Given below has detail concerning which manufacturing firms will be making the upcoming iPhones.

  • iPhone 6C:Wistron
  • iPhone 6S:Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron

Confirmation on whether or not Apple will actually proceed with a 4 inch smartphone will be given as the company gears itself towards launching its newest iteration of mobile products.
