How to fix no sim card installed error

If you get an error stating that there is no SIM card, it is likely that it is due to the fact that the iPhone is slightly thinner than some SIM cards. You may notice that the error appears after charging your mobile or updating to the new version of iOS. Here we will take a look at the options that you can try.

Solution 1

One way to resolve the temporary issue is to reboot your iPhone or iPad. You just need to press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

Solution 2

If you haven’t done so yet, update your iOS device to the latest iOS.

Solution 3

This fix can work for iPad users. You have to turn the Airplane mode on first. Then go to WiFi settings and enable WiFi again.

Solution 4

Remove the SIM tray and use a cloth to clean the contacts. Place three small pieces of scotch tape on the area of the SIM card that doesn’t have metal contacts. Don’t cover the SIM card completely. The tape should not be bigger. Place the tape back in the tray and place it back in the iPhone. The tape should make the SIM card thicker, which may help to fix the problem. Turn on the phone and check if the issue persists.

Solution 5

Go to Settings, then General and select Allow restrictions. There, look for cellular data and tick “don’t allow changes”.

Solution 6

Place your SIM card in another phone. Check the signal and service status. If there is any issue, you should bring it to your mobile service provider. You may need to get a new SIM card.

Solution 7

Reset Network settings. To do this, go to Settings, then General and select Reset, followed by Reset Network Settings.

Solution 8

You can try telling Siri to turn off Mobile data and then check if the issue is solved.

Solution 9

Remove the card from the iPhone slot and clean it to remove any dust. Then place the card again. Alternatively, you can try using a small paper clip and inserting it in the SIM card hole. Push firmly to get rid of the dust. You can use a small amount of alcohol to clean the contacts.

Solution 10

You may need to restore the iPhone. Just make sure that you backup first.
