Galaxy S7 specs leaked by Samsung Employee
The Galaxy S7 has been rumored for weeks, but a new presentation slide leaked by a Samsung employee begins to put the pieces together for consumers.
According to the Galaxy S7 presentation slide, as leaked by tech site PhoneArena, shows the Galaxy S7 having the same 5.1-inch, Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440p) display as the Galaxy S7, with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and powered by both the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 8890 processor. Of course, the processor used in your Galaxy S7 will vary by region. US and UK residents are destined to get the Snapdragon 820 processor, which Samsung has been helping Qualcomm manufacture in recent weeks (since the Snapdragon 820 has been based on Samsung’s own 14nm process).
Finally, we get some confirmation regarding the Galaxy S7 camera: Samsung will go with its own 12MP Britecell camera sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Korean giant has designed its Galaxy S7 camera to provide better photos and improved low-light performance than any camera the Korean giant’s churned out for its Galaxy S smartphones to date. Of course, the Galaxy S7 won’t let you zoom in on pictures like the 16MP Galaxy S6 camera, but you’ll get stellar pictures in any environment.
As of now, these are all the specs and features we have regarding the Galaxy S7. These specs and features are not surprising to many, but they go to confirm some of the new features of the Galaxy S7. While reading about the display size, display, processor, and RAM are known, we still have no word on battery size, the presence of the microSD card slot (though renown leakster @evleaks has confirmed as much), or the water and dust resistance that have been rumored for Samsung’s upcoming device. This is a good tidbit for now, but we eagerly await more information.
