Huawei unveils MediaPad X2
In addition to releasing MediaPad X2, Huawei will be adding another tablet to its product lineup for the year 2015 with the unveiling of MediaPad M2. MediaPad M2 will feature an 8 inch screen size with a resolution of 1920 by 1200. A Kirin 930 chipset will be present and it will feature a 64 bit octa-core processor that will be running at a frequency of 2 GHz. While we know all that, it’s still unclear which chip will be in the final product. It’s expected that Huawei will pass on the ARM Cortex-A57 due to its high power consumption. The next best bet is the Cortex-A53.
With high clock speeds MediaPad M2 will be able to deliver sufficient processing power while keeeping satisfactory thermal control and overall reduced temperatures. In addition, MediaPad M2 will also be running 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board memory (with an option to expand that memory up to 128 GB) and a gargantuan 4,800 mAh battery. As for the operating system, the product will be running Google Lollipop 5.0, along with the company’s customized interface for improved flexibility.
Furthermore, an 8 MP/2 MP camera combo will also be present. Huawei will be releasing both a Wi-Fi only and a Wi-Fi + LTE model (LTE Cat 4 modem). MediaPad M2 will also be featuring a Bluetooth 4.0 module, along with a GPS and NFC chip. In regards to pricing, the regular version will be sold for $311 while the LTE model will carry a price tag of $389.
Seeing how many other products are unable to provide users with this level of preformance all while still asking ridiculous prices; should have the M2 placed favorably in the eyes of consumers looking for a fast and feature-enriched slate.
