LG Nexus 2015 and Huawei Nexus to be announced September 29th
The LG Nexus 2015 and Huawei Nexus have been leaked in photos to no end, but we now have an official date for the unveiling. According to sources familiar with Google’s plans, the LG Nexus 2015 and Huawei Nexus will both be announced on Tuesday, September 29th. This confirms the earlier rumor about the LG Nexus 2015 availability at the Google Play Store on the same day.
The LG Nexus 2015 and the Huawei Nexus are said to provide different price points for Nexus buyers. Google “ruined” its affordable price point last year when the search engine giant unveiled its 6-inch, Nexus 6 at the $649 price point – which has become standard for all flagships. The Nexus 6 price point was a major departure from the $349 and $399 price points for Google’s 16GB and 32GB storage models in Nexus phones past. Google intends to announce the Huawei Nexus this year, but it will be considered the company’s most expensive smartphone with a 5.7-inch, Quad HD Super AMOLED display, among other features.
En LG Nexus 2015 will be the most affordable Nexus phone announced this year, with a 5.2-inch, 1080p (Full HD) display with the hexa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 2,700mAh battery, and USB Type-C charging which provides reversible cable charging (you can plug the charger in either way). As for the cameras, LG is opting for the use of a 5MP front camera and a 12.3MP back camera, which won’t interfere with the company’s own 16MP OIS+ camera on its G4 flagship. As for storage models, you’ll only get to pick between either 16GB or 32GB of storage, making the 32GB model the highest storage model you’ll get with this new LG Nexus smartphone. The price of the LG Nexus 2015 looks to be around $399 for the 16GB model and $449 for the 32GB model. So, as it has been said, the LG Nexus 2015 will be somewhat pricier than the 2013 LG Nexus 5 was.
As for the high-end Nexus, the Huawei model, we know that it will be the high-end, though we don’t know the exact price. I’d say that $649 doesn’t seem out of order, considering the $449 price tag for the 32GB LG Nexus 2015. The Huawei Nexus will feature USB Type-C charging as will the LG Nexus, and, apart from reversible cable charging, it’s said that Type-C charging will bring faster charging speeds (meaning you won’t need to charge your devices as long as you did in the past). Yes, you’re getting a razor-looking back camera, with a crazy black bar, and we recommend a black model and not a white one if you decide to buy. The AMOLED display in the upcoming Huawei Nexus will be made by AMOLED display manufacturer Samsung, who is no stranger in the smartphone space to gorgeous AMOLED displays with deep blacks and rich colors. With that said, you’ll be getting a gorgeous-made display with a pleasant viewing experience.
There aren’t many details on the Huawei Nexus, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground to see what new details we can pick up between now and then. There’s one thing we do know: both the LG Nexus 2015 and Huawei Nexus will arrive with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed, which makes these Nexus devices the first in the smartphone world to feature the new Android “dessert” update. And yes, Android Marshmallow brings native fingerprint scanner support, so the LG Nexus 2015 and the Huawei Nexus will both feature fingerprint scanners.
Now, we need only sit back and wait for the announcement. If you’re looking to spend your money, you might want to hold it tightly for just a few more weeks.
