Acer announces world’s first Chromebase All-In-One Desktop
Acer today announced the world’s first Chromebase, an All-In-One Desktop system with touch display. There were rumors circling around about a similar device from Acer when it announced the very first 15inch Acer Chromebook earlier this year.
Acer Chromebase is not just an ordinary desktop system. It features a 21.5 inch display with full HD resolution 1080p with touch screen display. The display has a viewing angle of 178 degrees and can also support up to 10 touch points at a same time. It is interesting to note that Acer adopted the exact display size found on the Apple iMac although both are totally different from each other as iMac also features Retina display.
Acer Chromebase is powered by Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra K-1 processor however there is no information about the RAM on the device. It has built-in 3W speakers, an HD webcam for video chatting, an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 as well. According to Acer, the boot time is under 10 seconds. Acer Chromebase All-In-One desktop comes with free 100GB of Google Drive space for free.
There is no other information about the Chromebase available right now but Acer did send out the invites for an April 23rd event which says, “discover what’s new across all our product lines, including 2-in-1 convertible notebooks, tablets, monitors, and other smart devices.” This Acer Chromebase might not be the only new system that Acer is going to introduce. We are expecting to see some pretty decent stuff from Acer at the event.
