Apple starts rolling out new iOS 8 to its devices

Apple has started rolling out the new iOS 8 update to its devices from today. iOS 8 is expected to have a ton of new features and UI upgrades along with the support for Apple’s Apple Watch and Apple Pay. It’s been quite a while since the iOS 8 beta was rolled out few months ago but now the final iOS 8 version after all the testing has been pushed to all the Apple mobile devices throughout the world.

One thing to note here is that the new iOS 8 is only compatible up to certain generations of Apple devices. iPhone 4S and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini (all versions) and iPodTouch 5G are compatible with the latest iOS. People with older generation devices will not receive the OTA update.

A lot of new features have been introduced in the latest iOS 8. In previous version of iOS (iOS 7) Apple focused on the UI and introduced the most dramatic changes to its mobile OSes UI in 7 years. This time, with iOS 8, Apple has introduced a lot new features and options that would benefit the end user one way or another.

One of the features that a lot of people are looking forward to is the Handoff feature that allows any iOS device to sync directly with Mac running OS X Yosemite. But according to Apple, this feature will start working from next month.

Before updating the device, the user should have 2GB of free storage space available to install it. Even though the update size is just around 1.1GB but few users have reported that their iPhone needs about 6GB of free storage space in order to install the latest iOS 8 update. Make sure to backup data before starting the updating process.
