BlackBerry Priv maintenant $250 Off chez DailySteals

BlackBerry is not a company known for rising in the spotlight these days, though the company’s launch into Android territory with the BlackBerry Priv back in November has proven to be something of a big deal. The Priv sold out at Amazon within hours of its launch there, and the phone has since arrived in the US market with the Big Four carriers. While the phone is certainly a welcome one for old BlackBerry enthusiasts who loved their slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the phone launched with quite a high price tag at $700. In some markets like Canada, the device was closer to $800 and $900, right on par with Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge but, unlike the S7 edge, not quite up to par in capability and performance. Some Priv customers have held on to their cash, waiting for the moment in which the BlackBerry Priv would drop to an acceptable price point.

Well, that day has arrived — or is starting to come, anyway.

Online electronics site DailySteals has a deal for a limited time on the BlackBerry Priv that may just finally get your hard-earned dollars. The Priv is selling there for $449.99, down $250 from the $699.99 price tag it arrived with five months ago. Keep in mind though, that, while the specs are what you’ve seen and heard, the device in question is an AT&T-branded, unlocked BlackBerry Priv. Your only choice of carriers with this phone are AT&T and T-Mobile, so if you’re a Verizon or Sprint customer, we’d suggest you not pick this phone up. After all, the technology with Verizon and Sprint is CDMA; the AT&T BlackBerry Priv discussed here operates with GSM technology. You don’t need to be educated in these acronyms to know that they’re two different ones.

The BlackBerry Priv features the trademark dual-curved edges that have made Samsung’s Galaxy S6 edge and now, Galaxy S7 edge, famous, but BlackBerry has brought its own slide-out keyboard and suite of apps such as BlackBerry Messenger that make this phone perfect for the more nostalgic fans among us. Other specs include a 5.4-inch, Quad HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor (lesser power than the Snapdragon 810 and now, Snapdragon 820 processor), 3GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB of storage, an 18MP back camera, 2MP front camera, and a 3,410mAh battery. The camera is a rather respectable contender, though the Priv may prove to be more of a 2015 device that has run its course. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have already been placed atop the market, making the Priv hardly noticeable.
