Comment réparer la prise casque de l'iPhone qui ne fonctionne pas

When the iPhone 7 was launched there was a bit of controversy about the fact that the headphone jack was missing. Although some people felt that removing the headphone jack was a mistake, others thought that it was the right choice. The opinions are still divided, but it seems like with the iPhone 8, Apple will bring back the headphone jack. Having a headphone jack can be more convenient but if you own an iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6 Plus, you may experience issues with the Headphone Jack. If it is not working, there is something that you can do to fix it and in this guide, you will learn the necessary steps.

1. If the iPhone Headphone Jack is not working well, the first thing that you need to do is to check if it is clean. If you are experiencing issues such as “iPhone Headphone Jack Noise and Static” or “iPhone No Headphone Audio”, it is likely that there is dust accumulated in the audio jack. Using a small pin or a needed, you can try to remove the dust from the audio jack. You may find that there is a high amount of dust that is clogging up the audio jack. After cleaning the Headphone Jack thoroughly, you can plug in your headphone again. If the issue persists, try the next step.

2. If after cleaning the Headphone jack a couple of times, you are still experiencing issues, you can take a look at the Silent Mode or mute mode switch to see if it is on. If you see that it is on, you simply need to turn it off, making sure that the orange color can’t be seen. Once you have disabled the Silent Mode, you can try the Headphone Jack again to see if it is working. If the Silent Mode switch is stuck, you can use a toothpick or a pin to try to push it back up to ensure that the iPhone recognizes that the Silent Mode is disabled.

3. When the above steps fail, the next step is to disable Bluetooth, if it is on. When you are connected to a Bluetooth handset, it is likely that the audio is going through that device instead of the headphones. You can try the below steps in this case:

  • Select Setting on the iPhone Homescreen
  • Go to Bluetooth and toggle it off
  • Check the iPhone Headphones to see if they are working this time

4. Another way in which you can get the issue resolved is hard restarting your iPhone. In some cases, the issues with the Headphone Jack can be caused by a small software error. You can try to fix it with a hard restart. Simply press the Power button and then the Home button until the screen goes black and the iPhone restarts.

5. Although the above methods are likely to work in many cases, if the issue is still not fixed after trying them, the only option would be to bring your iPhone to the Apple store. An experienced Apple technician will be able to find out what is happening and will help you to get the issue resolved.
