HTC and Microsoft team up to release a Windows 10 device

Taiwanese smartphone maker had recently announced its flagship handset, One M9 at the MWC, which took place in March 2015. Afterwards, the company announced its One M9+, a MediaTek chipset running variant that was rendering the 2K resolution. In order to increase its hold on the Windows Phone market, the company has formed an alliance with software giant Microsoft in order to release a Windows 10 device.
Since the source has only claimed the words ‘Windows 10 device’, it can be speculated that it could either be a smartphone or even a larger screen slate. However, majority of the readers will be leaning towards a smartphone, since tablets sales are declining thanks to the increasing sales of phablet sized smartphones. Chia-Lin Chang, who is the President of Global Sales and Chief Financial Officer positioned at HTC, has stated that the company is working closely with Microsoft at they are proceeding to release a Windows 10 device. The executive states that:
“We’ll see how the new version of the Windows operating system shapes up and where it fits in the HTC lineup.”
Now that it has been known that an HTC Windows 10 device is going to be released in the near future, confirmation will still be needed if the launch is going to take place before or after the official release date of Microsoft’s unified interface operating system. Similar to products like Surface 3, Lumia 430, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL, HTC’s upcoming Windows device might just be running Windows 8.1 and receive an upgrade to Windows 10 along with future Redstone updates.
According to the source, Chang has stated that additional information concerning the arrival of the device will be available during the end of Q2, 2015 or the start of Q3, 2015.
