LG launched firefox OS Fx0 smartphone
Firefox OS if you are not familiar with is an unpopular smartphone OS. The company has been targeting markets where there is a potential for low end smartphones as all the smartphones that runs Firefox OS on them are pretty much affordable, reason being as Firefox OS is still new and not a lot of people out there know about it.
Firefox just announced that they are launching a new Firefox OS smartphone in Japan now through a carrier named KDDI while the smartphone is named Fx0and is made by LG. LG Fx0 offers a unique design with a transparent body and specs that puts the smartphone in the upper middle range, which means Firefox is not targeting the lower end market with this device.
LG Fx0 is equipped with a 4.7 inch display that supports a resolution of 720P, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SOC clocked at 1.2GHz with LTE support coupled with Andreno 306 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone is also equipped with an 8MP camera on the back while a 2.1MP camera at the front and will have an onboard storage of 16GB with microSD card expansion slot. The smartphone will be powered by a 2,370mAh battery and will be running Firefox OS 2.0 out of the box.
LG Fx0 will only be available in golden color and will cost around $416 dollars, which is a normal price in Japan as all the smartphones are expensive in Japan compared to other countries but still the smartphone is priced way higher than it should be for an OS that is yet to make a mark.
In terms of performance the smartphone should do more than good as Firefox OS is designed to run on low end hardware from the start. Would you go for one if you lived in Japan ?
