Samsung travaillerait sur un chipset Exynos avec un modem LTE Cat.10

As we all know Samsung is going to launch their next flagship device known as the Galaxy S6 next year and regarding that a lot of rumors has risen up among which one is about Samsung working on a new modem that the company is going to equip their latest Exynos SOC with.

Samsung Galaxy S6 as always will be available in two versions one equipped with a Qualcomm SOC while the other with an Exynos SOC that is going to come with a tri-band LTE Cat. 10 modem in it, which is said to achieve speeds of over 450MPBS and will be ranked higher than the current LTE Cat. 6 modem that is used in smartphones. There is no official news about this though but we might see Samsung use it in limited number of their flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S5 LTE-A for instance.

Qualcomm also recently revealed their Cat. 10 Gobi 9×45 LTE modem which is also said to achieve speeds of up to 450MBPS but the company has plans to launch it next year, sadly it won’t be one of the highlights of the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SOC to be included in a lot of 2015 flagship devices.

LG is also said to be working on a tri-band LTE carrier aggregation which would also attain speeds of up to 450MBPS. Looks like it’s going to be a tough competition between all the three companies. People don’t usually care about such download speeds as no one uses a lot of data on their smartphone because of their limitations, other than that speeds like these can only be achieved in Korea as their carriers have the ability to do so.

Do you think downloading at such high speeds can benefit you?
