Configuration d'un Chromebook pour un senior
There are times when we would need to help our relatives or friends who are seniors especially when it comes to technology. This includes setting up a Chromebook. If you need help in doing this, do not worry as through this article, we shall provide you useful information which you could use as a guide in setting up a Chromebook.
How to Set Up A Chromebook for A Senior
Get a Google Account
A Chromebook is not like the usual and normal software like Windows. It actually uses Google Chrome browser. This means, for you to be able to setup your Chromebook, you will have to setup a Google account. Having a Google account makes it easier to setup your Chromebook. Though this is the case, there is also a way to do this without having a Google account and that is by selecting browse as a guest on the login menu.
Log In to Your Chromebook
As soon as you turn on your Chromebook, the first thing you would be asked is for you to choose your language and then it will ask you to connect a WiFi network. Keep in mind that the password of your WiFi could be seen on your router device itself.
Connect to your WiFi and accept terms and conditions to sync your Chromebook. This would allow you to keep a copy of your settings on Google’s server. Hence, in case you would be logging into another Chromebook, phone, tablet or other devices, you will have the same settings. Another thing that you will be able to do is to provide your location which allows Google to track you. If you do not wish for this option, all you have to do is to uncheck the use of location. This would prevent your apps to use your phone’s location.
Choose Your Apps
Unlike Microsoft or Apple, Chromebook does not have any traditional software. You will have to purchase apps instead. You could do this just like what you do with your Android phone. Most common apps which you could load are Gmail, Google Docs, word processor and spreadsheet.
