Sony Android Nougat pour ces appareils

Android Nougat has been announced by Google and released, with the Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X, and Motorola Nexus 6, and Pixel-C getting the coveted next-generation sweet treat in Android (it’s hard to believe we’re so far past KitKat now). We’ve seen Google announce its own Nexus devices, but the Sony Android Nougat update eligibility has

Well, customers want to know whether or not their devices are eligible for the update, and the Sony Android Nougat eligibility has been declared. From the company’s own blog:

As you’ve probably seen Google unveil Android version 7.0, Nougat we’ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap and plans – so here goes…

We will make Android 7.0 Nougat available for: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and Xperia X Performance.

For Xperia Z3 owners who were anticipating the new Sony Android Nougat eligibility, well, you’re out. The Z3+, released only in Japan, is the only Z3 getting the update. The majority of update-eligible devices are those of the Xperia Z5 collection, just released last year bearing the controversial Snapdragon 810 we touched on at nearly every occasion.

The new Xperia X series has now replaced the Xperia Z series and removes the long-cherished waterproofing of Sony devices in an effort to become more relevant to the current consumer climate. Samsung’s Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy Note 7 show that water resistance is still in, but that seems to have been all the contribution and distinction Sony made in the smartphone space.

The Sony Android Nougat brings the same features that Google stated at its I/O 2016 conference: split-screen mode, a deeper Doze Mode, file encryption, background OS updating with future updates, and other “goodies.” We’ve seen since the Nougat announcement that a Data Saver Mode will help consumers save on their data plans and prevent their devices from gobbling up 4G data that would cost them overage fees. Sony says they’ve made enhancements and brought new features to the Sony Android Nougat update, but we’ll have to wait until the Japanese Android OEM releases the update before finding out.
